No, it's not crazy, you're just doing what you have to do.I dont think you should waitress for the rest of your life NO.Why not? Simply because you have what so many people wish they could get ...an EDUCATION.Some cant afford it, some cant do it because their in a tight situation and some just wish they could do it, but dont have the will power to follow through! Besides if you like doing what you're doing and it makes you happy...then why not? If it's anyone who should be fed up with the low pay it's you! and you're not so I say go for it! You're very smart and you can accomplish all the goals you want in life, just remember that. Best of luck to you :)

I don't know where you come from, but waitresses where I live can make a bundle. Do you have a career in mind? Why the dual degrees? Most people these days, skip the Masters and go straight for the Doctorate. If you are just up in the air as to what you want to do it is your life and you can waitress as long as you want or even forever for that matter. It is not your family or friends decision.

Tell them to never mind. If you enjoy waitressing, that's fine. If you don't, it'll help pay the rent until you can do something more interesting, which I suppose would have something to do with psychology. There are not too many jobs that a master's in English is a qualification for; teaching high school English, or something involving writing (good technical writers are always in demand) are possibilities.

Not if it's something that you like to do. Just because you have a masters doesn't mean you have to jump into something right away and be some big shot. Your friends should respect that your still working hard because waitressing is tough and exhausting work. Financially of course, it'd be better to get a better job but until then just do whatever is right for the times don't worry about your friends its your life not theirs. :)

While you're working toward your 2nd masters degree it's important to have a flexible job schedule and waitressing usually offers flexibility. Hang in there and do what you have to for now...when you graduate you will be well prepared to take on the professional world and the people who are upset now, will realize you knew what you were doing.

Are you happy? Can you pay the bills? Do you or your family and friends know how many people have degrees and never use them?! The waitress thing seems ideal for staying in school, it should be easy to free up time when needed to concentrate on your studies.

Well, if you plan on waiting tables for the rest of your days, then I would say that maybe getting two masters was a poor investment. But there's no shame in waiting tables while you work your way through grad school... if you're fortunate, the tips will be generous. Congrats on your educational achievements. Once you're done with school, you will be in the position to make the best moves for you.

Some waitress jobs can really pay depending on where you work. Some people get jobs in their profession or apprentice type Jobs. I am surprised you don't tutor on the side too. I am totally checking this for grammar. LOL! I know I am bad.

No I don't see anything wrong with working as a waitress while you're still studying. It's a practical thing to do. Good waitresses can earn quite a lot in tips.
