Being a larger woman I know how frustrating it is to find clothing. And believe me Lane Bryant is NOT, I REPEAT NOT affordable. My suggestion is Target, Wal-mart have good clothes sometimes but you just have to keep an eye out for them. Also there is a place called Fashion Bug. They are always having some kind of sale or another. They have nice clothes.. I buy most of mine there that I need for work. Also Cato, its very similar to Fashion Bug. Good Luck Shopping..

How big? Macy's has a plus size section that is pretty good. I don't know how large it goes but I take a friend of mine there all the time. Also Lane Bryant is another plus-size retail store known for fashion. I hope this helps. You might want to add details to your question. Like your size if you know.

Would depend on what you are looking for. Also depends on price range and if you have recently gained or lost weight and need to replace most of your wardrobe. I know a very tall plus size girl that gained weight and bought a couple of clothing lots from ebay to replace most of her closet.
I would poke around online and find clothing lines you like and than look for a local store. Personally, I do most of my shopping online because I feel bad standing next to the 16 year old 100 lb. cheerleader girls in the mall. I am only about 15 lbs. heavier, but now in my 30's, I do not like that comparison. LOL.
