Something that came out in 2006. Tell me why it was great and why I should rent it. I'm a single mom and I don't get to movies that aren't rated G, LOL!

Thanks for all your answers so far. Let me clarify a little: I want to rent a movie that I can watch by myself. It doesn't *have* to be kid-friendly! I will watch it when my son is asleep. Aloha!

The Departed...
I can't remember a film that seems to be more universally received by both casual filmgoers and critics. I have some friends that rarely go to the movies who enjoyed it as well as some of the most stingy critics. It's not for everyone with the vulgarity and violent nature, but I think one would be hard pressed to make a case that it is not exceptionally well made.

I actually thought Borat was the best movie in 2006. I'm not sure if anyone would think the same, but I've never seen the movie that was as great as that one. The movie is about a Kalakstan man coming to the United States and learning about the morales within the state. While learning, he encounters many situations that cause him to have to use his knowledge. In one instant he chases Paris Hilton and says something like "You're Hot" and then responds with "Not." Although quite racist, I also thought the part when he says, "What gun is good for killing Jews?"..."Like a Jew Gun," while purchasing a weapon to protect himself.
Also Jackass was pretty funny. It seems like those people never die from doing hideous jumps that the average person wouldn't even dare do. One part that I thought was great was when one of the actors got shot by these metal pelet gun... and there's more.
Both movies are worth a laugh and are definitely not rated G. For that reason it would be worth your time renting them if you want a great laugh. Hahah.
Also I couldn't stop laughing when seeing Borat, so maybe you'll do the same!

I think it was The Da Vinci Code. If you don't read the book first it might seem the movie is going a little quick, but even if you didn't read the book, it's a GREAT movie. And I think it's PG-13 but that's only cuz people get shot, and there's some self beating... but it's nothing big.

The Departed was the best movie of the year in my opinion, however it's a very adult movie and not for kids. Blood Diamond was really good as well.
Click was great too, nice choice whoever picked it above me.

I loved The Skeleton key with Kate Hudson. It is spooky, unusual, and is set in the Everglades which are always a bit scary, and lots of rooms in an old house,a scenario I love for some reason. She is good,too... Happy viewing!

Little Miss Sunshine is really funny, like National Lampoon Vacation. I'm not sure what the rating is, though. It's not really for the kids.

Gurl if you want some comedy and a good cry. Rent 'Click' with Adam Sandler! That movie is 10 kinds of good!!

Little Miss Sunshine is very funny, but not in the traditional sense. get it if you like a darker, and critical comedy. The Departed is great too.

V for Vendetta - starring Hugo Weaving. It is kind of philosophical if you look past the entertainment , & there's a good deal of action mixed w/ drama, plus a tint of romance.
