Wow, so much ignorance packed into so few words.

People are allowed to pray in schools. As a matter of fact, the ACLU has defended the right of students to pray - as long as the individuals are taking the initiative to do so on their own. Christians always have, and always will be allowed to pray in schools.

Schools, their employees and officials may not organize or lead prayers, nor may they facilitate any particular outside group from coming in preaching to a captive audience.

This is exactly the identical standard for what is allowed and not allowed for Muslims.

So, in terms of "consessions," it seems you are against allowing certain US citizens the same rights as everyone else, based on their religion being different from yours.

That's totally against what the Founding Fathers set up, in practice and theory.

I guess YOU are the one working against us.

Hopefully they will be as free to celebrate their holidays as Christan's "currently" are.

To all of you who say that you just celebrated "Christmas" I beg to differ, you did not. You celebrated "The Holidays". Christmas trees, holly, Santa, a yule log? Those are not "Christian" symbols, rather symbols that gradually over the years became associated with Christmas. I bet what you did not have in your schools or any Public place was a "Nativity" scene, Cross, or depiction of the Three Wise Men.

Not that it is wrong [or right] just a correction in your skewed perception that you have recently celebrated Christmas.

You may wish to reexamine those "Christmas" cards, there's a fairly good chance they actually say Happy Holidays.

What are you talking about? What Christian holidays are you not allowed to celebrate? That is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard.

Did anybody happen to notice all the Christmas trees all over the place - including in shopping malls and public schools - during the month of December? My daughter's PUBLIC elementary school had six Christmas trees within the first 30 feet of the front door for the entire month, but not a single menorah even though it was Hannukah as well. It goes without mentioning that I have yet to see a single "Happy Eid" sign in her school or any other public place in celebration of the Muslim holy feast.

Talk about denial and arrogance...sheesh!

To East Coaster: I understand about Christmas trees being of pagan origin, but get real; Christians use them to celebrate Christmas. Excusing public schools for loading up on Christmas trees by saying it's not "true" Christianity is just a technicality. Ditto with Easter eggs. It's just another way for the religious right to get by with permitting as much of their religion in school as they can while denying everyone else their rights.

Here's a better example: Once every six weeks, the church across the street from my son's high school offers a free luncheon for high school students who want to attend, and the high school actually lets them leave campus that day to do so if they wish. Needless to say, they have not permitted any mosques, temples, or other institutions to do the same. I'm not one to complain about something so minor, but it really irks me how many small privileges like these Christians regularly receive while everyone else is required to stick to the rules.

If you know of a public school where Christians are not allowed to pray, you should contact the ACLU. They will step in for those people's right to practice their religion.

Likewise, if you know of a public school where Muslims are organizing prayer services to the exclusion of other religions, the ACLU would very likely be interested..

To The Generals Profile,
You should capitalize Christmas if you want to seem concerned.

Since when has anyone been not allowed to pray in school? (Engel v Vitale, the court case some say banned school prayer, only banned MANDATORY school prayer.) All people of all faiths can pray in school on their own time.
Since when were you forbidden to celebrate Christmas, Easter or any Christian holiday?

Read the 1st amendment, all people can practice their faiths freely.
It is not Musilms who are working against us, it is your kind who do so by trying to limit the freedoms of others in the name of security, or "traditional values; which in turn, makes you an enemy of Lady Liberty herself.

So... you're saying we can't celebrate U.S. holidays, because I just celebrated Christmas and New Years, as did everyone else in America. Don't you think you might be exaggerating a wee bit much?

Where are Muslims being allowed to pray in schools where Christians are not?

Did you hear about the Muslims who were refusing to pick up rides in their taxis if the person had booze or seemed drunk? They want to make a statement about drinking but not criticize radicals.

If Americans want their laws to be challenged as in Europe having a equal set which dismembers and beheads and forces conversion don't do anything about it.,
