oh i don't really exactly know between a yacht and a ship, but i wold be thinking that it would have something to do with the size and a yacht doesn't use an engine to move where a ship will, being of much larger scale also a yacht doesn't have the need for the crew size of the ship because there is a lot less maintenance.

Ship and boat - can be used interchangeably, but a ship is usually a large sea-going vessel, a boat is usually a small open vessel (though apparently in the USA boat can also mean a large sea-going vessel, just to confuse matters!). Ferry - a boat used to carry people, vehicles and good across a stretch of water. Yacht - a small light sailing vessel.

Yachts are for rich people to hang out on and flaunt their wealth. Ships are for people who want to take a cruise and feel rich for a few days or they are filthy behemoths that haul cargo across the seas.

Go for the yacht and remember, the best boat to be on is SOMEONE ELSES!

A Yacht is typically a private vessel, whereas a ship is normally a military or merchant vessel. Cruise ships are designated MS (merchant ship).
