7. What is it about soccer that you love - Competitiveness, atmosphere, skill level,

9. Who is/was your favorite player if any - Thierry Henry (i am an arsenal supporter)
10. What is it about soccer you would change if any - Limit the amount of money ploughed into football by advertisers and sponsors
11. Rate the 2006 World Cup overall 1-10. 10 being best - 5 (would have been higher if England had actually played football whilst they where there) Would have been lower if it had not been for Cannavaro (Italy), he was superb throughout the tournament

3. What is the total number of major sports in your country - I'll say 6 (Amer. football, baseball, basketball, NASCAR, hockey, and soccer - since there is a "major" league) with a possible 7th for golf if it is considered a major sport.

7. What is it about soccer that you love - I love the footwork. I love the sheer skill required to precisely move that ball up and down the pitch without using one's hands.
8. What is it about soccer that you don't like - .......I'd have to say I don't like that all the UK/European games are so far from me.
9. Who is/was your favorite player if any - This list could be long, so I'll stay current: John Terry, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Ronaldinho (talk about footwork), Zidane, Alan Shearer. In no particular order.
10. What is it about soccer you would change if any - I would have sweepstakes/competitions for free UK/Euro club match tickets available to US citizens. It would also be nice if I could download ringtones and wallpapers from my favorite teams onto my cell phone. ..just a fan thing, not really anything about soccer itself. I would not be the one to change rules or systems regarding the sport. I would not want that responsibility.

Ooo.. There were some disappointments. For example, even though the outcome of the match may not have changed, Switzerland scored a second goal on Korea when the goal scorer was clearly offsides. The assistant ref had his flag up for some time, but was overruled by the head ref.
There were also some spectacular moments, such as John Terry volleying the ball out of England's net to prevent Trinidad/Tobago from scoring. Additionally, I could not take my eyes off Japan's goal keeper. There was something about his style I found fascinating.
I was disappointed by the lackluster effort Brasil gave against France. I am a fan of both teams, so I thought I would have been torn, but France deserved their win. I don't know where Brasil was that day...
I'll give it an 8. I enjoy seeing "underdog" teams surprise the spectators (Ghana), and I was interested enough to watch all the matches. Ronaldo did set a new record.
