Its not always that like charges may repel each other, they can attract!!!!! When one charge is larger than other in value, then larger charge induces opposite charge on the side of the smaller charge facing the larger one. So net effect is that of attraction and not repulsion. But since your question is objective and doesnt has any option to take this effect into account, so ans is D.

Therfore both A and b are correct.

d is wrong becuase it says either (a) or (c).
If we take (a) is correct then (c) becomes wrong and vice versa.
It will be correct it it states that both (a) and (c) are correct.

Whatever be the choices, the fact is " like charges repel".

Both a) & c),but looking down to root causes and on subatomic level , c) is the best answer.
