Be honest, I mean is it even possible to believe we are alone?

For there not to be intelligent life somewhere out there among the stars is such an infinitely small chance it is uncountable. Think of all the stars out there, If even 1 in 1000 has planets, and only 1 in 1000 has breathable atmosphere, and 1 in 1000 of those has water and 1 in 1000 has life and 1 in 1000 has intelligent life, we haven't even scratched the surface. I think the universe is teeming with intelligent species that are spread so far apart none of us may ever meet. possibly millions or billions of intelligent species asking the exact same questions we do about life on other planets.

Yes, there is a house with a woman in across the road from me so that makes somebody apart from just the two of us.

If you mean "us" earthlings (any indiginous earth species) then there is an argument that life developed as a result of a meteor so that would make us all aliens.

I also believe that aliens have visited and quite possibly are still here, so that would make them us too.

So a conclusive NO.

There is a really good chance of it being there. This is so because it has happened here, and so it can happen elsewhere. However, it would be theoretical and not mac because it hasn't been found.

Life occurred on earth because of the conditions on earth that permitted life to exist. If on a similar planet, elsewhere in the universe, it may come into existence as well.

There have been no earth like planets found as yet, however, absence of evidence does not mean evidence of absence. Given the size of the Universe, it is forthrightly realistic that life exists on other planets.

God I hope so 'cause most days it seems like that there is no intelligent life down here. There's this formula that some astronomer came up with to calculate the number of possible worlds with intelligent life. I can't remember the name of the astronomer or the formula but the calculated possible worlds with intelligent life was somewhere around 50 thousand or so give or take 10 thousand. I believe he worked for SETI, at any rate I hopre there is.

As I said in another answer, when you consider the number of planets in a solar system, the number of solar systems in a galaxy, and the number of galaxies in the universe, even if life were a one in a billion chance, there would still be thousands of life-sustaining planets. Some of these would invariably carry intelligent life.

I do not, however, believe that we have, or ever will, be visited by or visit these other beings, because interstellar travel is neither practical nor probable.

It is logical that we mustn't be the only living creatures in space. Nature must have created thousands of different life forms and populations that are impossible to be placed on the same planet and she probably made many planets where there is life. Maybe there are other living creatures that are smarter and more developed than us, but that are galaxies far away and we have no chance to meet them if you have in mind that we have discovered just a tiny part of the universe.

First of all, let me tell you that I am not a religious freak.

That said, think about what you asked... How many people have religions that focus on a supreme being that does not live on Earth? Quite a lot of them, right?

Now, if a person was born on and lives on the Earth, that person is called an "Earthling." Right?

And, if a person (or whatever) was not born on the Earth and does not live there normally, we call that person (or thing) an
"Alien." Right? So, Gods of almost all types are Aliens, right?
And there you have your answer...Millions of people believe in Aliens.

ok here is my theory, turn your t.v. on walk right up to the screen, you will be able to see all the little dots that make up the picture. Figure we (earth) are one of the dots, and all of the other dots are other planets. now figure that the wall your t.v. is on is a wall of t.v.'s and all of them have a gazillion dots. Out of all the dots the probability that we are the only one with intelligent life form would be rare. OR we were incredibly lucky that the gases on our planet were just perfect and we are the only ones. makes you wonder

Carbon life forms need water and sunlight to exist. It has been proven that there is water on Mars, so it would be naive to think we are alone in an ever expanding universe.
