Create a routine that you never have done before. For instance. If you want a bar of chocolate, buy it and eat it 3 days or more later. Fix your bed in the morning. What you need to do is excersice your will. You can do this, all you need to do is picture yourself rejecting free booze at a party and feeling good about it. I use to do the chocolate bar thing, because for instance I used to have a problem standing up to people. It may seem like no big deal at all, but looking at a chocolate bar in the fridge every time in opened it and telling myself, not today, not today, and then rewarding myself for waiting, that took balls. How can this relate to standing up to people well, to me, if i can say no to chocolate, i won't let myself be underestimated. Believe you are strong, and you will be. hope it helps

it depends on how much and how often you are drinking. if you are drinking every day 24/7 then you need to go to a doctor and be detoxed in a hospital. alcohol withdrawal can cause serious life threatening symptoms. if you drink everyday but not all day or all night, like say a six pack or two a day then you still need to go to a doctor and let the doctor supervise your detox. sounds like you've tried to stop before and can't quit on you own. in that case you are probably an alcoholic. after detox you need to get into a good alcohol treatment program, and AA. AA is free and they will help you quit drinking. they have a 12 step program and sort of a code of ethics which if you follow faithfully will truly help you to get sober and stay sober. go to as many meetings as you can and work the program. they say "it works if you work it."

Well, you really can't stop drinking if you are drunk. Alcoholics, that are really alchies, have to go the hospital to have that done. You can die while detoxing. Go see a doctor.
