No (with caveats)

If you're determined to do X, you are not capable of having chose otherwise. There is no room for freedom given a necessary future. Any psychological fantasy that 'appears' to exhibit free choice does not give us evidence but illusion.

If "Destiny" is given a strong meaning, such as above-- a necessary future-- then free will is strictly not possible. You cannot choose against history. But if destiny is meant in a weaker sense, such as: the future which is the result of a person's life (that is, an undetermined future, viewed from a future perspective looking back) then there is no inconsistency, provided that free will itself is possible.

Well, destiny is what you end up doing or looking or being.
Free will, on the other hand, is you ability to do what you want to do out of many options and a pool of choices.

Now, if you are able to choose to do one thing in preference for another, then you have the free will. This action will induce other consequences that along with other laws and constraints will help shape your destiny.

So, yes. Destiny and free will can coexist.

It is impossible for destiny and free will to coexist.
Destiny means that there are some pre set rules for your life. You cannot escape the destiny that has been set for you. Everythin that you do, your every action is predetermined, so, basically you cannot do anything on your own.
Free will is the opposite of destiny. That is, the steps you take in life are of your own chosing. You are responsible for all the decisions you make, not some higher power, like in the case of destiny.
And nobody can tell me that you fight destiny by killing yourself. Because that means that it was actually your destiny to commit suicide.
So, all in all, destiny and free will cannot coexist

Yes they do coexist. I believe that everyone has a destiny, something that they are meant to do yet it's not as though we are puppets being moved through life, we are still free to make our own choices. But the neat thing is, that the universe gives you little signs when you're on the right or wrong track. When you take steps toward your dreams & follow your heart (therefore your destiny) things start to fall into place for you. When you ignore your dreams & stay stuck in a rut and follow a path that you feel is wrong for you, things go wrong & you're unhappy, the universe is telling you you're going the wrong way. But either way, you are still free to choose which way you go.

I believe that each of us has someone we are destined to be with, our soulmate. When you meet this person you just know. Some people don't wait for the right one. They settle & then end up miserable, divorced etc. We don't always make the best choices but we are free to choose. When you make the right choice & follow your destiny, that is when you find true happiness. Look for the signs. Yes you're free to ignore them but why wouldn't you choose to be happy?

Yes destiny and free will can coexist because your destiny depends on the decisions you make and that also goes in with your free will because its what you choose to do.

If there is destiny - that is, a predetermined and inevitable course of events - then, no, there can be no free will. There can only exist one or the other. There can, however, be the illusion of free will.

If you are destined to do something then all of your actions - whether you believe them to be your choices or not - would be predetermined. You think you chose to turn left, but if you were destined to do that, then it was never really your choice.

you reap what you sow....
if you sow chilli you cannot expect any other crop than chilli.
god has given us a body, a mind to think, and a good digestion system to eat and digest, also he has created lots of fruits, crops, and species,,,,
its upto to you to apply your mind and choose what you want to eat .
AS birth and death coexist ,
free will and destiny too coexist.

just because it is destined or some god knows it, does not mean that you did not freely choose to do what you did. You made said choice without any knowledge of destiny or coercion by other forces.

yes, on the road of life, destiny is your destination, while free will is how you are going to get there, and everything else on your trip
