Ok, I'm about to start a new job... an ACTUALLY JOB.... business suits and everything. However, I have horrible skin. It's oily, ance prone, and I have several acne scars. I'm looking for some foundations and powders that can help to "cover up" and reduce the appearance of these imperfections. I was looking at some of the more pricey makeups, such as Clinic, BareMinerals, etc., but don't want to put the money into them until I've gotten reactions from anyone who has used them. I've already tried Mary Kay and it did a good job of covering up my scars but after awhile, my face was extremely oily and felt so "cakey." If anyone has any suggestions as to what make up I should try please let me know.

I don't have not problem with the price. I don't want something that's going to cost 100's of dollars every month. I, personally, look at make up as an investment, in self esteem. Also, make up can last for while that's why I wouldn't have a problem spending a $75-$100 every few months.

OK, my face is acne prone, not broke out everywhere. Right now, it's under control. However, I want a product that won't cause me to break out really bad, and that has great coverage for my scars, when I start to wear make up DAILY!!! I have used Proactive but it didn't work for me. Also, to the person who insisted on using moisterizer, you were so right. I stopped because I thought my face was too oily and that would make it worst but just within these past few days, I've noticed a huge difference.

I use Bare Minerals and LOVE it. I was really apprehensive about the cost, but hubby bought it for me when I was pregnant and developed BAD red blotches and scars from large pimples from the pregnancy. It worked miracles. Most of the pimples were from wearing such heavy foundation to cover the blotches, the Bare Minerals let my skin breath better and it is just a miracle how fast it is to apply and easy to use. Oh, and the Bare Minerals also are extremely light feeling, when you have to apply it heavily to cover up blemishes, you can barely feel it on your skin. Only complaint I have is that it will rub on your clothes, if you are wearing black it can show on a sleeve or something if it brushes your face. It does not seem to smudge off your face though, still covers well if wiped or if you break a sweat or something. They also have a money back gurantee, comes with a great application tips DVD, and a really nice makeup brush starter kit that I think are really good quality brushes.
It does set you up on a monthly shipment. I cancelled now that my skin is clearing up, I do not wear makeup all the time so a 1 month supply has lasted me 4 months.
I have not used other higher end makeups so I can not compare to others, I just know that this one is 1000 times better than department store foundation and powder. Made me feel really pretty and "smooth skinned" even at 8 1/2 months along.

I swear by BareMinerals. When I wear it, I do not feel as if I have makeup on my face and well its quick to put on in the morning as well. I do not think that you would get an allergic reaction by it. I know that it seem expensive. I recommend that you get the foundation, and the mineral veil to start out with. It last a long time because you do not put on a lot. I do not recomment that you buy their expensive brushes either. You can buy a fluffy brush at Wal-mart or any discount store. Mary Kay is really expensive and I have never been that impressed with that brand. Also you stated that your skin is oily, Avon has good products and they are not that expensive.

have you tried meeting with your consultant to try some different foundations, etc? I know that while one product can feel cakey and oily, another can be perfect. But, it does take some experimentation. If you have a good consultant, you should be able to meet with her and try a bunch of different stuff to see if something works better.

I have really oily skin and need good coverage. I use the medium-coverage foundation with a dusting of powder over it. This has been the best for me-the creme to powder makes me too oily. I also use the oil control lotion 3 before I put my make-up on. Feel free to email me if you want more info or some samples.

I have the same problem. I think you should def. see a good dermatoligist, but in the meantime the only make up that helps your skin and will prevent breakouts is Bare Minerals. Also, you should look into Obagi products...I heard it clears acne, but there is a dry and peeling phase that lasts for about a week, but what it does is get rid of the old skin and brings outs the new skin underneath to the surface. I heard its really effective and helps solve the problem then covers it up temporarily like other products. I am starting tomorrow and I hope it does what I heard. Again, definitly talk to a dermatolgist about this product. Good luck and I wish you the best at your new job!

Bare Minerals is the greatest thing ever! I have rosacia and I always have red bumps all over my neck and cheeks. My sister got me into using Bare Minerals, she put some on me and I was instantly hooked. It's really natural looking, and the best part is, it doesn't ever look cakey or get creased throughout the day. I even wear it in the rain, and you can't see where the water droplets hit my face. Go to any Sephora or Ulta, or whatever high end makeup shop you have in your area and try it out, they always have some open. It's a dream, and it never, ever broke my skin out.

Also, it never goes shiny, and if you have super oily skin, they sell a second powder you dust on over the minerals, it's translucent and it sets the makeup.

You should try finding out why you have bad acne and oily skin, make sure you're using a cleanser and a moisturizer, because people with oily skin will skip out on moisturizer because they will think it will make their skin oilier, when the whole reason their skin is oily is because their skin is trying to make up for the lack of moisture you're not putting in yourself, which will clog your pores and give you bad acne too.

Something I love that works with everyone is cetaphil and baking soda scrub.

as for makeup use a foundation all over your face, then a concealer for the bad scars and acne, then a power to set everything, cover your face with your hands and breath into it, the moisture that goes onto your face from your breath will help with that fake cakey look, sounds gross but it works.

First use a great system so that your face will take the make up and you will not feel so cakey! It sounds like you would greatly benefit from the Arbonne Clear Advantage system. It really is not that expensive and it is phenomenal! Then you want to find a make-up that is free of dyes, fragrances, mineral oil, animal by products, ph correct and Dermatologist tested! Again Arbonne! Arbonne also has a mineral make-up that is incredible and if you do not like the cakey feeling you will love the make-up. first you should buy a really good skin care system, proactiv is ok, but its a lifetime investment, once you stop using it it'll come back. You dont need to spend a lot of money, olay, cetaphil, and neutrogena are great products. Buy a cleanser for your skin type, a toner/astringent (dab w/ cottonball on face), and a moisturizer, use it daily. also there is a great mask by Color Me Beautiful, its called Instant Results Mask, use it once a week, you'll really see results instantly, seriously. Bare Minerals is a great product, but its not for everyone. i suggest going to a consultant to help you out. You can purchase these at Ulta, try them out and if you dont like it you can return it within 60 days. Also visit there website ULTA.COM, it'll give you a discription of the products, if you need any need any help feel free to ask me.

Bare Minerals really is the best. I love it. I have problems with my skin too, and it works. if you dotn want to pay a monthly price go to a store that sells them and just buy it that way. it really works. It makes my skin look beautiful.

My Story- I hate my face!!!! I would cry myself to sleep thinking about my acne and black heads. Then one day I saw a commercial for Bare Minerals. I went to Ulta and they helped me apply it with the right skin tone. It was amazing it looked better then all my makeup put together. i loved it soo much i cried right then and there. It didnt smear. my skin lookes radiant and i wasnt ashamed!! People noticed and it really makes finding a job easier.

I love it and it really works and worth the price. Hope this Helps!!

PS: I have not encountered more breakouts and i have very fair skin!!
