italdesign?
Intermeccanica Italia?
The poster talking about it being the De Tomaso Pantera is nuts.
Ford donated the engine, but it never had the name "italia".
It raced in the Giro d'Italia, but thats it.

I think in the early 20th century there was an Italia car company, I find no reference to one in the 70's, and I don't remember one either. De Tomaso Panteras were powered by Ford 351's in the 70's
Andy W read the posts - no claim Panteras were Italias, only that they were Ford powered Italian sports cars made in the 70's.

you must mean Fiat which stands for "Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino" which means Italian Car Factory of Turin in english. In latin, the word Fiat means "let there be".
Fiat cars are an Italian automobile manufacturer, engine manufacturer, financial and industrial group. they are based in Turin, Northern Italy and was founded in 1899 (over 107 years ago!)
Fiat runs well known firms like Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Autobianchi, Innocenti, Abarth, Fiat, and Maserati. Ferrari is also owned by the Fiat Group, but is run autonomously.
if you want to read more about the extraordinary history of this company and all they have produced and accomplished, one of the simple sites you can start with is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat

To find Italia you would have to go back to 1930s or even earlier they were great machines in their day but that was a long time ago when cars still ran on wooden tracks , like at brooklands.
