I think you have grounds.
They were idiotic to give you that reason for not employing you.
They could have given any number of other reasons.
A phone call to a lawyer would be an idea, just to see where you stand.

I wouldnt take you seriously too after I saw your spellings. I hope you can at least spell your name right. About the ground for a law suit, sure you have a ground but you'll spend a heck load on an attorney. I suggest you forget ahbout this and go on a diet and get fit.

I don't think you would win a lawsuit. That would be like someone who is unattractive suing a modeling agency because they didn't get cast for a shoot.
The sporting goods store is there to make money and if you would hold them backthey have a right to not hire you.

Is there a medical reason you are overweight. If not, why allow this to be a stumbling block. Lose the weight. You can do it!!!

Did they give you weight as the reason or are you just assuming it was because of your weight! If they told you right out it was because of your weight then you might have a law suit! Put you need to prove it!

Personally I would call a lawyer for a free consultation.
Also did you happen to get it writing or have a witness that heard them tell you it was because of your weight? If so that would help your case if you choose to try and sue them. Good Luck!

PS. Something to consider also..... Is that even if you won a case against them, would you really be winning??

Did they tell you that or do you have something to show that they consistently discriminate against overweight people or do you just "know" that is the reason they didn't hire you? You can sue but probably have no case.

Did they specifically say that to you? Or is that just your assumption? If they said that you are overweight and unfit for the job then you could sue them for discrimination.

Sounds like you have grounds for a diet, work-out routine, and a waaaaaaaaaaa-mbulance.

nope, it'd be a wast of time. they can hire who they want. you probably couldn't find a lawyer anyway. forget about it and get on with your life.
