There are a lot of ISP out there--be careful when open your email that it legite. If necessary put a blocker on it...until you get acquainted with the system....there are new ones popping up every so often and some are phishing sites using different ISPs. Don't click on any links no matter ISP is until you are familiar with that site. I have had and worked with computors for 10+ years and I hear from sites I never heard of either--Hotmail I have heard of but never used and I am cautious if I don't know the sender.

Where have you been these last ten years or so?

Hotmail is the worlds largest E mail provider owned by the world's richest man, who just also happens to own a little company called Microsoft. Have you heard of that one?

Hotmail.com is a well known ISP. But if you dont know the sender and if the mail contains a executable extensions like .exe, .scr, .pif etc then do not open it, because it may be a worm.

I suggest you to Scan the attachment using a antivirus before opening.

hotmail.com is an entity of Microsoft. Its definitely legitimate but if youre getting unsolicited emails its probably something you dont want to open..it can contain viruses or threats to your computer. Best bet is just open emails you know you can trust or ones you are expecting.

hotmail.com is legitimate, and has been around for a long time. It was one of the early mail systems available to people whose ISP's did not have mail.

Hotmail is a Microsoft enity. Yes, it can spread viruses, but no worse than any other service. See the link below for more details. I would recommend gmail.com or inbox.com for your email.
