I really think you should read the book "If Men Have All the Power, How Come Women Make the Rules?" by Jack Kammer. It's free in PDF form. Download here: http://www.rulymob.com/ It's an interesting and funny discourse related to this issue. Good night!

Its a hard question to answer considering one would have to be realistic about what kind of equality they expected. Some women would say its not right to hit a woman, in the same way you hit a man, which means they aknowledge that there is a difference between men and women. I believe what most women want is equal respect, this sort of respect has only been enjoyed by the more affluent women in society over the generations, and now that we have more of the lower class filling the middle class slots, we have to do away with how the lower classes disrespected their women. Its an uphill battle, but I do think that women who want equality in everything else outside the respect issue, better be prepared to pay the piper in every other aspect of life. If they are ready, then I say more power to those women. I do not believe however, that other women should be forced to follow the leader on that one. Its a sticky issue as you can see.

Women SHOULD get equal jail time. It baffles and disgusts me that our legal system seems to think that women preying on young boys is not as bad as men preying on young girls. But I think that the current media coverage is bringing more attention to this problem and that we WILL soon have equality in this matter, and that's a good thing. As for it being "okay" to knock a girl out...it's not okay regardless of who the victim is. It's assault. I don't think the legal book's definition of assault is "a man attacking another man or woman." It's assault if a man hits a man, a woman hits a man, or any variation thereof. If you mean "socially acceptable" it shouldn't be "acceptable" for anyone to commit a violent act against another. Our society is not going to be improved by violence toward other "groups" becoming more acceptable. It will only be improved once it's not acceptable in any case.

This is already happening. There have been several well known cases of women being jailed for sleeping with a minor, such as Mary K Laterno and Lisa Lynnette Clark. Of course women have to accept that equality applies to all areas, whether the consequences are good or bad. HTH.

You pose a really great question, my friend. 'Equality' is certainly putting more stress on women. Taken simply from a military perspective, women are completely disallowed from high risk occupations. There is even a specific search option on GoArmy.com entitled 'Restrictions: Only Jobs open to Women' (source 1).
If they expect to get the same oppurtunities, women may be forced to adjust their own genetic shortcomings.
Good luck, Ladies!
On another note, what every happened to Chivalry? Aren't men supposed to 'take care of the check' and allow 'women and children first'?
If we Equality to the letter, both of those concepts will disappear!

One thing I'd like to clear up on this subject is the difference between equality and freedom. Equal is mathematical. It means without a doubt EQUAL--the same as--no difference. Freedom is very different. Freedom is about choices, having them! But, freedom ends at the tip of your own nose. No ones freedom should ever impose or threaten or hurt another. But, it does every day. I believe it is human nature to domainate something or someone..it seems to be the evil strand in every human.

to purely rapidly throw in the 1st ingredient that got here to my ideas. . . you comprehend that saying approximately giving a guy a fish vs. coaching a guy to fish? If those form of synthetic reward have actually merely been surpassed to women folk as you're saying, then i might particularly anticipate such an result. i'm hungry. . . i desire a fish now, please. no remember if such reward have been surpassed to women folk singe the beginning up, they are purely now being surpassed out after lady predecessors fought to get them, or no person's ever surpassed out such reward is an completely diverse remember for debate.

i think so. i mean, imagine if you couldn't have a nice job, vote for anything, fight in wars, had to wear the most uncomfortable clothes, and if all of your wealth and property went to your husband. there's a whole lot more to women equality than suffrage.
but you do have a point with that other stuff.

A lot of women should really sit down have a real long think about this one, not only once, twice, but thrice.

I don't think it is. Look where "equality" has gotten us. Extra work- that's where!
Now not only are we expected to raise a family/clean the house/be a chauffer service, we are expected to work our little a's off and make a living... that's just great! Now we have like 10 jobs to do.
Thank you feminists! I really appreciate it. LOL
