I feel that I might be being discriminated at work becasue of being over weight. Is this protected under the law?

its a grey area really. Even racial discrimiation is hard to prove. It can "shake things up" but unless there is solid evidence your rights have been stepped upon there is little you can do legally. If you can perform your job then it shouldn't matter, in my opinion. Yet, for example, if its your job to chase criminals and a light jog causes a person to almost pass out.. I hope most people can say that a person with weight issues should not be in the line of work. Good luck to you though. Dont take sh#% from anyone.

this would really be hard to prove and there is really no law
against it. I do believe that being overweight does not have anything to do with how great you are at your job. Mostly people that discriminate against other people is beacuse they have their own insecurities about themselves. Just be the best person you can be and **** the others.

i think the overweight problem made you over sensitive.
cut it down, you'll feel better.
