I am a geek. I memorized over 100 digits of pi. If you are interested I would gladly share with you my strategy for doing so but only if you actually want to know.

Ask yourself if your calculator will really accept that amount of precision and whether it is worth having pi out to 45 digits... certainly you can get values of pi to millions of digits, but for what purpose?

Having said that, I'm one of those geeks that has memorized pi out a ways. It's 3.14159 26535 89793 23846 26433 83279 50288 41971 69399 37510 58209...

If you are looking for methods to memorize pi, you can either break it down into groups of digits, like above, or you can learn it as a sort of poem or song. Just keep saying it to yourself until the rhythm of digits gets stuck in your head. :)
