Because if they weren't able to distract us with the flailing booty and hooters and vag, then we'd all notice that they're *really* untalented and boring.
Seriously, though. How long can you listen to someone sing "to da leff, to da leff!" before you just have to see something to distract you from how utterly stupid the lyrics are?

In an interview of Beyonce she said that the person on stage when she is performing isn't really how she is in real life. In real life she is a lot shyer. She uses this other persona to make herself comfortable. In my opinion kind of like an out of body experience. J lo on the other hand is known for her bootayyy so she uses that to her advantage.
