The 100 hours is the first 100 hours that Congress is in session not the first 100 hours after they take office. I agree that it is a little misleading, but this is the way Congress works. Don't expect the Democrats to do much more than raise the minimum wage and institute some internal oversight and ethics reform. They won't touch taxes or Iraq until after they get the Presidency in 2008. Everything for the next two years will be political games to set them up to win. Nothing real important will be accomplished.

If you'd bother to read the 5 day schedule, it doesn't begin until late on Monday and ends early on a Friday. Monday, the 15th of Jan is a federal holiday. If they didn't observe it, you'd be bitchin about they're having no respect. It's obvious for all to see that no matter what this Demo controlled Congress does, you're going to be complaining. How does all that sour grape taste anyway?

Politicians of any party will say anything to get elected. It worked, didn't it?
On the bright side, do you really *want* Congress working more hours? They do enough damage in the time they work now.

It was all just mush for the average person who doesn't keep up with what's really going on. And I think the worst is yet to come.

Count your blessings. The fewer days they work, the fewer things they can screw up. Not just this, but any legislature.
