A way for us to not have to sleep. Imagine the things we could accomplish if we didn't have to spend a quarter to a third of our lives basically comatose.

The greatest invention in the last 15,000 years of human history has to be one of two -- either (1) the invention of stone tools, such as the "Clovis Point", which allowed humans to become hunters instead of prey, or (2) the invention of the Internet, which will continue to change the way human access knowledge and exchange ideas, thus enhancing our survival as a species.
