I just noticed something really interesting - in all of bowl game / national championship game history, Ohio State has played SEC teams eight times including tonight's game against Florida - AND OHIO STATE HAS LOST EVERY SINGLE TIME! Hmmm... does this make anyone besides me wonder about Ohio State and the Big 10 being OVERRATED and the SEC teams being underrated?

The Big Ten prefers their scholar/athletes. The SEC is a semi-pro league which does not stress academics. 'Nuff said.

And in RESPONSE to you, jglow24, YOU'RE the one who'd better put spell check on when you write answers and name- call other respondents.

The University of Michigan and the University of Wisconsin are both "public ivies," and Northwestern is an outstanding private school. Nothing in the SEC compares; sorry, chum.

Well, i DO agree that the Big Ten is overrated, but i have to make the point that they did beat the SEC in 2 of the 3 games this bowl season, Wisc. beat Arkansas, and PSU beat Tenn. Though as I said ALL ALONG, since the day the game was decided, Troy Smith would not be able to keep up with the Gator D. and I was more than right, i believe they held them to UNDER 100 yards of offence all game.

And in responce to the fool up there who said that the SEC is just semi pro and doesn't care about academics like the Big X, the big x has only 4 more top 100 schools than the SEC, your dumb.

after looking at that, The SEC should be mention as a pretty great conference and shouldnt be underrated. As for Ohio State they were owned today vs florida and in school history are owned vs the SEC.

No one really overlooks the SEC...they just like to flap the gums..OSU has a hard time with any of the teams in the SEC...The weakest teams in the SEC can beat any team from any other confrence on any given day...the SEC is the toughest confrence.

I sense a avi bet in the making. @Ralph- something like that :P Closer to 19-5-1. @Wise- SEC speed is a myth. Michigan exposed that when they went to Florida and beat them a couple years ago (1/1/2008). EDIT: Yeah but Michigan's only played Vandy once since the 1970's. @Ralph- I wouldn't hate on LSU considering their coach may become our coach.

The SEC proved to me that they deserved the ranking as the best conference in college football. The rocked in bowl season.

well the thing about this to remember is in the long traditions of both of these particular programs it is the first time they had ever played, to me that is just rediculous in the first place.
