The Rev Limiter was fixed to the RPM's in 2006 GTO and Monaro. So the Top speed of the 2007 model off the show room floor will be 175 MPH with LS2 6 Speed... The Auto cars will sit a fixed to PCM at 160 MPH.... and might only get to 154 to 158.
817 2007 GTO's were order by Buyers in 2006 and they will be delivered to those people... ((Will not be 2006's))
But if you want a Brand New one you will have to buy it in Australia as a Monaro by Holden. Also 4 door will be offered.
The Next Gen-GTO GMX282 will be 2008 and will be redesigned Holden or two different possibilities for the next GTO: an all-American design with more expressive sheetmetal and a styling philosophy sprung from the upcoming Grand Am replacement (as predicted by the G6 concept car) or a Holdenesque GTO, with GM-Euro styling that would be a natural successor to the current Monaro.. All are based on the V8 rear wheel Drive and the LS7 might be an option...
2005 LS2 GTO's top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph
The GTO-R is up in the Air on Top Speed at 212 mph it still has room for more. Someone need to modify one for Bonneville and try for the Record... You can still Order this car from Pontiac starting at 275,000.00... GTO-R built by Pratt & Miller-GM Racing's

Thats because it was cancelled as of 06, sorry but sales weren't where GM wanted them and they ditch it and the SSR pickup.
