They did not "work out the end of the world in 2012"
Their Long Count calendar (which is simply a count of days, nothing inaccurate about adding 1 to it each day!) starts its 13 Baktun (a unit of time about 396 of our years long) on 12-21-2012. For some reason some people have gotten it into their heads the that calendar reboots back to zero (which is absurd) and time and the world must end.

Everything is possible, I am just keeping an open mind, I will see that year and so will you, and we will both see what will happen. Personally I think that there is a possibility because many things can change in 5 years, however I doubt that the Mayans could have ever predicted the world to turn out like the way it is now, they only predicted its astrological and astronomical locations in space and time.

Actually The Mayans where from another world ...the giant humanoids mentioned a lot in The Bible like David and Goliath, and in other places.
As to the date devised...it is very difficult to get the date...we know the time spans of the calenders (3 ) but not the start date.
As to the end of the age ...very soon now,
with their planet ...planet X now back at earth ...think we are in the run up to transformation this year not 2012...not good news for those not ready in spirit
We know their red dust covered planet makes a red cross in the sky (sign of the Son of Man as Jesus said in Luke 21) this sign in the heavens will be about 8 weeks before ..then those in church will have to explain why they have not told about it as guardians of faith .

Do you know how many people have predicted the end of the world since humans first began thinking of such things. The Mayans did not work out the end of the world, deranged new age lunatics who only want to con people out of money thought up the idea that the Mayans predicted the end of the world, dont be conned by these crooks.

The Mayans left us encryption-because their calendar ends in 2012 does it mean the end of the world for all or just part-or even just 'change', maybe even 'energy created'....
What I find strange is the 32 that 2012 makes-it is equivalent to the first number confined within the created octagon of the star I included within this chart. The number 32 is in November-and its opposite on my chart is May-*May*an. In November in my chart there is time created within this 'pie' part of chart confined within octagon. It makes a 60 with the 32,20 and 8.....May makes the 42 (meaning of life and reversed 24=hours to day)....32 weeks is 8 months and a baby becomes viable within the womb at 8 months and the 32 also makes a 5=May.
I have a lot said about these charts, and there is a lot to be learned from them too because they appear to hold a lot about time, energy and Christ.
The links I provided shows how each triangle also holds 52 equivalent to the year.
Energy is number 7-each 52 makes a 7 so now we have 4 x 7 so have the month with 28.

The Mayans. Jehovah's Witless, Druids, Fluids, Incas, Stinkers. Everyone grab a year ! Whenever a civilisation becomes extinct, they assume the role of, very wise, all knowing, advanced civilisations with a message for mankind. Why is everyone eager to end the show ?

They predicted the end of an epoch in 2012 not the end of the world. Perhaps the demise of the USA and the rise of China?

No one can really predict that. It's like a thief that will come when you least expected.......and stop by at your bedroom door to see how much you enjoy your stick on dips.
Seriously, if they were able to predict that, they shouldve prevented the collapse of their civilization. How come that that supposed race, so powerful yet have so little to tell about their culture? They have just disappeared with not enough trails to understand even their language? Or did I read the history wrong?

I don't see how the Mayan's accuracy in working out a calendar correlates to the end of the world. Yeah, the world will end, but I don't think this is such a sure-fire guide.
