Well I suggest you wear the following.
1) Faded Glory White Button Down Shirt. The shirt must NOT advertise any ciggarettes or any alcoholic beverages. The shirt must be all solid in color. Free of wrinkles.
2) A very nice pair of jeans, or dress pants. Make sure the jeans has no holes in them, and they are wrinkle free.
3) FOr shoes this can be tricky, but if you would like to dress casual, I reccomend that you wear a pair of boat shoes, without socks. Sneakers are OK, but they have to be clean sneakers. It all depends on what you would be doing for work. If you feel you need to wear socks, wear your brown Birkenstocks.
4) No Socks, if you feel you need socks, wear a different pair of shoes besides deck shoes. Wear a pair of dress socks that match up with your pants.
5) Wear a dressy watch if you can, and a dressy bracelet.
I wish you luck.

If you are serious and want to standout and make an impression as a responsible potential employee, dress in a professional manner. Don't go just to fill out an application; be prepared for an on the spot interview. As for what to wear:
Shirt: Clean white blouse for a lady; white shirt and tie for a guy.
Bottom half: Pressed dark or black skirt for a lady; pressed dark or black wool pants for a guy. A pants suit is acceptable for a lady; no casual pants or jeans!
Shoes: Black leather lace up shoes for a guy, black closed toe pumps for a lady.
Socks: Socks to match the pants for a guy; tan or neutral nylons for a lady.
Accessories: Dress watch for either; nice chain for the lady only.
Also, no visible tattoos.
Dress for success and good luck!

Hi there, I work in Human Resources and I interview people everyday. I'm not sure what type of position you will be filling out applications for, but your first impression will be VERY important. Even if the position is in a casual environment, you still need to present yourself in a professional fashion. Definitely no jeans, no birks, and limit your accessories to a nice watch. After you are hired then you will have more flexibility to dress how you want, but for this first step you need to be very conservative and professional. Khaki pants, dress shoes and socks, button up shirt, nice dress watch. (3,2,1,7,6 for the choices above) When you go to fill out the application, ask if the manager is available. If not, that's okay but if he or she is there, give them a nice firm handshake with eye contact and inform them that you're interested in a position and wanted to meet them face to face to introduce yourself. Be confident with yourself. Good luck!!!

Even though its just a bartending job, I think you should go business casual. It is always better to over dress than underdress. Dressing up as opposed to the other people not dressing up at all will make you memorable as well as a professional looking candidate.

hmmm,is it for retail...?
you should wear straight leg or boot leg jeans w/ some heels or flats..but keep the shoes neutral...as well as the shirt..so that way you can dress up your outfit w/ jewelry. maybe a long chainn necklace w/ a regular necklace..chandelier earrings..and basic makeup..not over the top and there you go!
