I know that most models talk of 100 years, but I asked about 10 years because none of us will be here in 100 years. I'm curious as to how people think global warming will affect us and our children. Really good answers so far though! It's going to be tough deciding!!

well, in 10 years it will become a few degrees warmer... ice will melt faster and we will have more unsalty water in oceans... after some period Atlantic ocean will also become less solty and because of that, warm Golf air (which in normal conditions circles) will stop circling, and lets just say, in Europe we will have much colder weather :)

The last time I looked, the weather experts at the weather channel blew it big time in their prediction of the 2006 hurricane season. That was only 6 months or so before the season. How are people on Yahoo Answers going to do any good 10 years out if experts can't even do good over 6 months?
And I can't believe that the model for predicting hurricanes over 6 months to a 1 year is any more complicated than predicting global climate over a decade.
I guess if 100 people were to answer your question, probably 10-20 would get it close to correct. The problem will be knowing which of them are right.

The global warming has affected the planet in last 10 years same as that of the 30 decades before that.
That is a drastic effect.
If this goes on,
avg. Temp. of earth will become 40 degrees from today's 29 degrees in 2030.

By a little bit, but most of the dramatic predictions for global warming, which have already been reduced by the IPCC, are on the timescale of 100 years, not 10 years.
Too many people are becoming Chicken Little in regards to global warming.

I think all the hot air from global whining will put a Democrat in the White House and will give Al Gore enough money to make a sequel to "An Inconvenient Truth" They can call the sequel "Phantom Menace" or "Attack of the Cyclones" That would be AWESOME!

THe effect would be bad. Its bad now.. but 10yrs from now would be worse. THe life that we have had.. would be effect . Say its cold in Co.. and hot here in the south and east. It might be warm or hot all year long for all the 50 states. This is scary to me. but not sure what we need to do. OUr lives would be turned upside down if this happened.
