What is the inverse of (p(x)+q(x)) when p(x)={ (1,4), (2,1), (3,3), (4,5),(5,2) } and q(x)={ (1,3), (2,7), (3,-1), (4,0),(5,1) }

to answer sophacles_selcahpos, it's simple. once i get the answer. i rewrite the problem over and over so that the next time i encounter a similar problem i'll know exactly what to do. so this is how i learn and it hasn't failed me yet

It isn't that we can't help you solve this. It is that we won't. The purpose of trying to solve equations like this is less to get a correct answer than it is to discipline your mind to think in the abstract. How will this be accomplished if someone else does the work for you?

Do your own homework.

Math is very comprehensive. If you can't do a simple problem like this, how will you pass your final.

p(x) = { (1,4), (2,1), (3,3), (4,5),(5,2) }
q(x) = { (1,3), (2,7), (3,-1), (4,0),(5,1) }

p(x) + q(x) = {(2,7),(4,8),(6,2),(8,5),(10,3)}

For the inverse reverse the coordinates of each pair.

Inverse = {(7,2),(8,4),(2,6),(5,8),(3,10)}

write out p(x) + q(x) as { (1,7), (2,8), .. etc}

then reverse : { (7,1), (8,2), ... etc }
