no doubt she is really smart but for most girls talking comes really easy find a 5 year old little girl and they will blow your mind my daughters by the time they where 18 months could tell me whole story's about their day so they where right around the same stage as your grand daughter and they are very well spoken now i have worked with preschool age children and baby's for 15 years now and its a lot of time the little girls who are the chatter boxes and the little boys that figure out things quick and can climb and ride things faster don't get me wrong i have also seen the opposite but it seems like most of the time it goes this way! it also shows that her parents and family are doing a good job because children who are talked to become talkers so tell them to keep up the good work!

My daughter talked early. She could say simple sentences by 15 months. My son is 23 months and has been saying three word sentences for a couple months.
I think it depends on how much they get talked to. i carried my babies in slings most of the day and narrated what waas going on. (I really didn't get around grownups very much;-)

My son is now 19 months and although he's been saying things for a long time, he doesn't really do it on command. Often he surprises us by repeating something we say, but most times if we try to get him to say it again, he gives us evil looks. lol. he started off around 11 or 12 months with words like tickle and yucky (suckie-as in pacifier???!), and other two syllable (in my opinion) tricky words, but seems like he loses words for a few months, I guess he just gets bored of them.

My son said about 6 words, other than momma by the time he was 15 months. His pediatican says he's right where he should be. I think that your grandbaby is just on track.

My son didn't say a thing before 2 years. After that it was a speech explosion. Everyone is different, sounds like a good thing to me! Have fun

Little young to send off to Harvard, don't you think?
I'm happy you are proud...just remember that each kid is unique in their own way, and Einstein was relegated to last in class because his teachers perceived him as "too slow". The message: don't be quick with labels!
Have a great day.

She is right on track, doesn't seem to me to be either advanced or delayed.
