time to enforce the immigration laws we already have on the books...amnesty for no one..by our politicians encouraging this we are creating an underclass of american citizens that are poorer than the illegals..all this so illegals will vote for them as soon as the politicians move to make them legal...this is worse than slavery, its the cutting out of the american dream of rightful american citizens...we need to get back to english language, schools, laws and culture as americans and if they dont want to learn ourt ways..go back to wherever they are from and leave america to americans..

You are missing an important point. The manufacturing base in this country is devistated as well as the union system.

The government has aggressively dismantled the tried and true system of protective tariffs to benefit private corporations. The results are clear. In 1950 a man could make a living and provide for his family in a solid, often union, based job building goods. Today, these jobsw are now filled in China and other low cost labor countries. The profits rom lower labor structures have been channeled to the corporate shareholders and executive management. The former head of Homedepot makes $119 million wheile the stock slips 8% and his workers make $7 an hour. Half the country makes $41,000 per year OR LESS.

The unions had protected a living wage....no longer.

Yes illegal immigrants do take jobs. But these are low apying and again probably should not be. A union carpenter could make $25 per hour or about $50,000 per year. The builder hires the illegal at $7 because...our laws are lax and he can. Housing has not fallen in pricing with the lower labor, the profit falls into the hand of the builder. The big builders isolate themselves by hiring subcontractors. In the end the working man makes out badly.

China will soon be building cars and exporting these to the USA with $1 per hour labor versus our $27. The USA needs to level the playing field through tariffs and redirect the monies to help with vocational training support for the american people. Or, let our auto manufacturing base be destrpoyed like textiles, steel, electronics, etc, etc. When the jobs leave so do the pay and the opportunity for the owrking family in America.

So....wake up...it is not an immigrant issue...it is an issue of our government serving corporations, special interests and the rich at the expense of the average working family.

Good point. No, Great Point!
Ya know, you would think just one of the politicians that plan to run for President in '08 would get a clue. All it would take to get elected is to say they would clear out all illegals, build a wall, fine employers and severely punish anyone found here illegally.
Shoot I'd vote for you if you ran on this platform. :)
