chances are someone will answer it
give them instructions on how to return it to where you are.
(maybe when the bus returns to where you were dropped off ?)
ask for the time that you should be there waiting for the bus to return

Make a police report and tell them you lost your phone on the bus and see if they can put a track on it through your phone company. Or hope for that someone finds it and turns it into the police station or to your cellular phone service company.

FIRST call the bus line, interstate or local. See if there lost and found has it. Maybe someone good turned it in.
Second, my understanding is that you can call you cell provider, tell them you lost it and they can tell you the last location from which a call was placed. You can't go in person, it's illegal, call the police and ask them to see if you phone is there. You go to someone's house and try to get it back, you are asking for trouble.
Also by calling your cell provider, you can have your services frozen until you get the phone back. That way someone if they have it can't use it and if you don't get it back, you won't have someone else using it either.

first try calling it to see if someone honest found it and answers it, then if that does no help. Next call your service provider and ask if they can track it, if not tell them you lost it and to temporarly to stop your service to that phone. Then you will need to buy a new one and hopefully your service provider will not charge a new start up fee.

Try calling the bus company's lost & found office, if no one has taken it then it may be with them.

Your best bet is to call the phone company that you have the contract with; there is no other way. When you do that they will make sure that no one is using the phone.

Firstly, call the service you use and report the phone missing. (That way you should be protected against unauthorized use). They should be able to advise you how best to proceed.
