Some sharks have to keep swimming to keep the water flowing through their gills. This is especially true of open-water sharks who also swim in their sleep.

Some sharks that live in the reef actually find a nice cave to sleep in. These sharks have developed the ability to force water through their gills like 'normal' fish and thus do not have to keep swimming.

So it all depends on which shark species you are referring to.

nurse sharks rest on the shallow seabeds

they don't actually need to swim all the time, just they need to have moving water flowing through their gills. they could easily go to an area where there is a water current and face the direction the current is coming from.

Sharks are an fairly primitive species of fish, and that they have not got flow bladders like different fish do, so as that they could desire to shop swimming to avert sinking to the backside the place there is somewhat little oxygen, if I bear in ideas wisely.

I believe they DO have to keep moving at all times. It's something to do with the oxygen in water flowing through their gills...or something like that.
