I honestly don't know any Black person whom has gotten offended after hearing a White person mention that they're proud of their heritage. Those Blacks in the classroom doesn't not equal the entire race. Did you ask your brother the tone in which he said it and what the discussion was about? You have to factor in other things before making a conclusion.
And Miketyson26, the reasoning behind BET was because there wasn't as much diversity on regular channels such as ABC, NBC, and CBS. Besides BET is owned by Whites anyway so focus your offense elsewhere.

this is many times surprised me how tolerant maximum black all and sundry is in direction of white individuals, given the **** they'd desire to go through on a regular basis. i'm one in all those white men that gets indignant with the aid of racist feedback whoever they are against, whoever is making the feedback. i've got even been in a highway combat to guard one harmless black guy who replaced into being attacked. As you will discover, i'm proud to be anti-racists - they'd call me "liberal" as though this is an insult, others can say i'm a hypocrite simply by fact they think of all and sundry is racist - i understand what's in my head and heart. on condition that racism is such an ignorant, evil, oppressive, ****** up undertaking, i will in simple terms comprehend how calm and forgiving maximum black all and sundry is. they'd desire to be better human beings than me. i don't understand the thank you to not be indignant at racism. It angers me each time.

Saying I'm proud to be Irish,Italian,Dutch etc. makes sense but what does "I'm proud of being white" mean? Whats the culture? No offense but when someone says they're proud of being white I think about the all American thing like baseball and hot dogs.

Research what black people had to endure and overcome during slavery, reconstruction, and the civil rights era and maybe you understand how far we have traveled. Don't be young and uniformed all your life. Open your mind and grow. If you honestly want to know about "black pride" read these books--Black First (4,000 ground breaking historical events) by Jessie Carney Smith and 1,001 Things Everyone Should Know About African American History by Jeffrey C.Stewart. Whites (excluding Jews) have never endured what blacks have so you cant understand what we feel. And I don't expect you to just except that it is our god giving right to feel that way.

Since when did one class make up all black people??
Just like how a man can sleep with the whole world and be called "the man" while the woman is called "the h0" ..there are double standards in this world that you have to get over

Being white is not a crime.
Other races need to get over their racism directed at whites.
Too much hate and prejudice is released toward today's white community.
Events and circumstances that occurred 200 years ago should be forgotten.
People should move on, learn , grow, and evolve.
I am proud to be yellow, or of Asian heritage.
White people should be proud to be white, just as any other race should be proud of their origins.

Imagine a television channel "White Entertainment Television".
The flak would fly and riots would ensue.
Of course there is such a thing as "Black Entertainment Television".
I guess we have finally reached the point were the whites are no longer the racists?
What a crazy world.
