How come so many times I hear " well so many Jewish people didn't go to work in the twin towers that day" or it was palestine, or this nation, that nation, Bush himself?

Because the truth, which is both simple and complex, is hard to accept. It is simple in that the generally accepted version is easy to understand: a terrorist group that we had been worried about for some time finally struck us. It is complex in that it is hard for our western minds to understand a culture so fundamentally different from our own. There is nothing in most of our backgrounds that would enable us to understand why people would be willing to kill themselves in order to kill thousands of innocent people of all races, religions, and nationalities for the sole purpose of making a political/religious statement and striking terror in the hearts of the people of another country. It is also difficult for us to understand how this could have happened without the U.S. being better prepared to respond.

So instead of accepting that there are such people and that they took advantage of our lack of preparedness, people invent conspiracy theories. These theories seem to make a kind of sense that we can more easily understand (the blamed parties always have motives more understandable to our western minds). And they give us specific targets to blame and even hate. When the hijackers willingly died in the course of performing this act of terrorism, they deprived us of culprits to track down and take out our revenge upon (with the exception of a few of their leaders).

But the reality is that these are only hurtful lies; hurtful in the sense that they prevent some of us from facing reality and doing something about it.

Listen to me brother......The Bush Administration orchestrated the whole thing. Explosives were planted in WTC Buildings 1,2,and 7. A missle hit the Pentagon. They shot a missle into the ground in Shanksville and said it was flight 93. The planes that hit the towers were empty, and were flown by remote control. People who can't accept this fact are sheeple people who haven't done their homework! Here......

Proof positive of a conspiracy: Bush didn't go to the WTC that day so he HAD to have been involved! Ditto for Chain-ey & Rummy. And Ted Kennedy. And Gerald Ford. And Nixon. And Reagan. And me. Oh crap! I'm a consiprator! Da-yum!
