I was on Depo for the better part of 4 1/2 years -- Came off of it this year because I'm at a point that I am ready to get pregnant. I know it can take anywhere from 3 months to 3 years to regain fetility -- however, I have yet to have a period. My Dr said this would be normal, and that I could still get pregnant even if I hadn't had one. I'm at a point right now where I honestly believe I could be pregnant, but the tests came back negative (I took 2). I was also told by a co-worker who has had one child that she went through the same thing, took like 10 pregnancy tests and they all came back negative and she was pregnant the entire time. My breasts are sore and tender, I'm tired (which isn't necessarily unusual), and in some ways, I just feel like I'm pregnant (gut feeling). Any advice? Anyone have the same experiences (or similar ones)?

I hate to say this but I've had at least several instances when I thought I am pregnant and I wasn't......late period, sore breasts, nausea, tiredness, etc. Even though we know our bodies well they can play tricks on us when we really want something ie pregnancy!! Everyone has a different pregnancy experience and sometimes I think we tune into the ones we want to hear. Good luck with TTC, I hope you already have!

I was on the Depo for 3 years, quit taking it for 2 months and became pregnant. But like you, I didn't have a period and my pregnancy tests kept coming up negative. I quit taking the Depo in September and when December hit and I still had no period, I went to the doctor and had a + blood test. The over the counter tests were still coming up negative.

I think it would be advisable to go see your OB and ask for a blood pregnancy test. They are much more sensitive than the OTC ones.

Good luck either way!

Coming off depo makes you feel like that. I was on depo for just over 4 years myself. My period came back in 3 months from stopping. In the month before it did I felt pregnant, did a test and everything. Nothing and I wasn't. I'd been pregnant before so I knew the feeling.

I concieved almost a year to the day after stopping depo. I'm 15 weeks and both me and the baby are healthy.

Really though, if you're coming off depo it messes with your body and hormones, REALLY be careful not to concieve until after your first normal period. You really need to let your body get back to normal before you get pregnant. If you are, good luck and good health to you.

You doctor is obviously the best one to answer your question.

The best advice i can give you is you can go to the doctor and make sure. Now if you feel weird maybe you can be. I think that you can feel when you are pregnant i mean my best friend was having sex and was in the same position like you are but she could tell in her body and how she felt within herself that she was pregnant and when she took a pregnancy test she was I'm not saying that you are but who knows your body better then you.
