Is this trend more prominent on college campuses? Is it more common with men or women? If it's a college thing, do you think 20-somethings stop their shoefree ways after graduating? Also, rank the last 5 decades of the twentieth century in order of most barefoot prominent to least (you don't have to list them all).... Mine are 60s, 70s, 90s, 50s, 80s.
I think it's just such a natural, sexy look on both guys AND girls, preppy or bohemian or whatever the style. Why can't we all just go barefoot????!!!!

I think the trend of being barefoot is definitly becoming more prominent. I have found many articles and medical studies showing the bad effects that shoes have on our feet. There is also the reflexology theory that walking around without shoes gives us mini-massages while experiencing different textures. Then there is the "Earthing" breakthrough that is proving that being in direct connection to our earth replaces the free electrons reducing free radicals in our body and thus brings us into balance. I can think of anything "ickey" with regards to feet and blame it on shoes. Then there's the pure comfort and freedom of being without shoes just because we want to.
As for your last question - We CAN just go barefoot. Where I kive in the midwestern US there are no laws against driving barefoot and no health dept. reg's. saying customers have to weare shoes in stores and resturaunts. To use Nike's slogan for going barefoot - "JUST DO IT"

Yes, and it's great!

I don't care about barefoot guys, seeing as how I am a straight man, but Barefoot BOHO is downright the prettiest way a woman can dress these days. Even better if the dress or skirt is so long it almost completely covers the top of the feet. Foot jewely seen on top--is she barefoot? Or is it such a thin leather sandal completely contoured on the sole as to look nearly barefoot. No such foot jewelry appearance on the top of the feet--look for the gray or blackened soles confirming she is barefoot! Either that or it's going to be obvious enough if she's having heat trouble standing at a hot pedestrian crossing that those feet are definitely bare and staying bare if they tough it out instead of putting on even minimal shoes.

Now, for bare feet, I think they're more attactive when tough, and the more flat or raised white callused parts appear showing through an asphalt blackened sole, the prettier they look.

I absolutely *love* walking around barefoot!!

Though not everywhere, mind you. ;)

My life at the moment consists of school, work, and outings with friends. At school, shoes are an option. (haha) And at work, of course, shoes are a must. :P We *do*, however, chunk them off to dance at the local surf clubs/shows. (fun times!) :) I have yet to experience the life after the college life, though. So sorry I'm no help to you there. :)

Cheat!! Cheat!!! You asked wayyy more than one question!!!

LOLOL

Ummm....well, barefeet have never gone out of style, as far as I'm concerned. At least, in my house and yard. But, then again...I'm a Kentucky girl.

Perhaps you might wanna spend this much time and energy thinking of something else....like getting rich...or doing things for needy people. lol

But, I do agree. Barefoot rocks!!!!

I hate barefoot guys. Although I'm somewhat ok with girls going barefoot.
