I never met his mom she died a long time ago, but sometimes I'm glad don't have to put on those fake smiles...and sometimes I'm sad I never met her.

I love mine like no other. She can make me laugh when no one can. I can tell her everything. But, on the downside, we used to fight like cats and dogs.

My mother in law doesn't speak any english, but that's not the point. Mother in laws run the gamut from being the most awesome best friend of her daughter in law to being a complete witch. Assume that she was the most awesome woman unless someone tells you otherwise. After all, she made your husband!

Maybe a little bit of both.

Mother in laws can be a pain, and complicate things.
But, they can also turn out to be someone that you enjoy spending time with and talking to.

i would say missing out.why would it be a luxury?who said she had a fake smile? she may of had the warmest smile you ever saw! she may of been one of your best friends. she may have enriched your life, and most likely, if you had any children enriched your childrens lives. yes, you are missing out. what a shame!

i figured out i pretty much have the same relationship with my motherinlaw that i have with my own mother. theres times when i want to just put duct tape around there mouths and other times i just want to tell them how much i appreciate all that they do. sorry to hear that you didnt get the opportunity to meet her and that your husband lost someone so important in his life so young. have a good one! :)

it all depends on who she was. if she was a fun loving person i guess you are missing something. my mom-in-law is really great. she's almost like a friend. and I'm glad that i have her in my life.
but there are some mom-in-laws who are really.... you know what, so i guess in such a situation its better to live without one.

My husbands mother passed away when he was 13, so i don't really have to deal with a mommas boy persay. Cause shes only his step mom, but OMG she is so annoying. and i believe yes if i have to deal them so should everyone else. I think that's why they should approve gay marriage its NOT fair they dont have to deal with it. wahhhhh
