Wow - well, maybe you scratched a nerve with the audacity to ask to purchase something priceless to that person! That person might’ve seen it as disrespectful.

There are a lot of questions that I have for this quesiton. The situation before, during, after, etc this incident could contribute to may different theories. It is posible that he was so overwhelmed with grief (if the death was recent) that he felt out of control of his emotions. It could be that he has poor impulse control and this is why he did this. It could be that he felt threaten by you for some reasno that you did not disclose. To say that he is crazy without all the facts is premature.

Some people love guns. It was probably to intimidate you. Fact is, to pull a gun is one thing, but to shoot someone is completely different.
