It sounds like the heater core or radiator in side the heater is blocked, or the control tap may not be working, this is a general maintenance problem and is not you fault,
If you look under the bonnet you will find 2 hoses that circulate the water from your radiator through your heater and back again, on the intake there should be a tap that is usually operated by a cable, check that it is working and that the cable is connected but some are electronic, these ones should not be tampered with unless you know what you are doing .Take it to an expert.
The 1st type can be cleaned out by reverse flushing, that is remove the hoses , taking note of which hose goes were, turn the lever on the tap to the on position and put garden hose on the out let, that is the one without the tap on, turn on the water and it should blow the offending gunk out of the radiator and out through the tap , leave running until the water is clean coming out of the tap.note, do not turn water on high or you will get a dirty shower after this done you can connect up again and your heater should work, it is them recommended to have the radiator cleaned out as the gunk had to come from some were and the radiator is the obvious place.as i say this is not a fault of the operator, it is general maintenance

First off tell your dad...tell him you think the thermostat has worn out and needs to be replaced. If the heater fan still runs but just blows cold this most likely is your problem and not something you have any control over. Replacement thermostats are only about $10-15 or less and I believe they are fairly easy to replace...

How do you expect anyone to answer this question with the minimum information you gave us?
Does warm air come out at all, even if you are going down the road at speed with the setting on fresh air?
Does the fan work at all? Does it work on just high?
Throw us a frikkin' bone here.
