After the bashing over the last three years, though it has subsided in the media, fans of other conferences have been bashing the Big East, now what do you say?

My question wasnt meant for fair minded college football fans, no one can deny though that there has been too much bashing of the Big East over the last few years.

I never said they were stronger than the SEC, But how many conferences have more than three good teams, and the Big East has only eight teams!!! Though im looking forward for West Virginia to play Auburn in 08 or 09, and Georgia playing Louisville in the future.

and by the way the Big East destroyed the ACC this year, the ACC is terrible, though thats not likely to last.

South Florida beat East Carolina, which can only be characterized as a mediocre Conference USA team.

Rutgers played very well, but Kansas State was a mediocre Big 12 team at best. Personally, I think Rutgers got shafted and should have been in a better bowl game than the Texas Bowl.

West Virginia over Georgia Tech is actually the most impressive win for the Big East. They were down by a lot, and came back to win it against a good ACC team.

Cincinnati over Western Michigan by 3 is ok, but the MAC wasn't great this year and I think against better competition this would have been a loss.

And Louisville over Wake Forest in the BCS bowl was sort of expected, as if it weren't for the last-second loss to Rutgers, Louisville would have been undefeated and playing for the national title. They were that good. And the Cardinals are the team that really did it for the Big East this year.

But I will say that the Big East gained a lot of respect and validation this year from a few years ago when there was talk of rescinding their automatic BCS bid.

Lets be serious. The Big East only have 3 teams. West VA, Louisville, and Rutgers. West Va and Louisville are number 1 and 2 of that conference. Rutgers didn't play nobody other than Louisville and West Va. The conference is not stronger than SEC, ACC, and the Big 12. They were big when Miami, Va Tech, and BC was there, but that was it. NO OTHER CONFERENCE is better than the SEC. The ACC is the only conference who is a little close.

I've got Louisville, W. Virginia and Rutgers in my top 12. They were better than the ACC and Big 12 this year, and maybe better than the Pac 10
If Notre Dame joins the Big East in football then that conference REALLY has a chance to be up there with the SEC

Your question isn't really fair to a fair-minded college football fan. I've been a season ticket holder at Wisconsin since Alvarez came (and grew up in Michigan), so obviously a Big 10 Fan. I have never bashed the Big East --but to be honest, I never really considered them a FB Conference, either, and still don't

(P.S. It was fun winning money taking Syracuse AND 3 pts. vs. Marquette in Buckets the other night--now there's your rep!! Buckets!! Oh wait--Wisconsin destroyed Pitt AND Marquette....well, the Big 10 is also a Buckets Conference, too!!)

Louisville, Rutgers, and West Virginia could have played with anyone this season. ANYONE!!

South Florida will be a team to recon with in the future!

I think West Virginia should've played in the Sugar Bowl instead of Notre Dame (they would've given LSU a much better contest; even without Steve Slaton).

Big East is on the rise. Especially Rutgers.

Congratualtions! Now prove you belong to college football's upper echelon and WIN A NATIONAL TITLE instead of a bunch of who-gives-a-gnatfart bowl games!
