Why would they fight? I mean. Ben is a pretty mellow guy, unless he’s attacked. He’s certainly not the type to criticize another guy for his looks! Okay, suppose that Grundy gets in the first sucker punch. I believe that Grundy has been shown even stronger than he was in the past. (Remember the time he ripped Swamp Things’ arm off, not even intentionally…?) [BTW, I’d love to see Ben and Alec get together and have a few beers, I think they’d get along like old buddies. Go cruising in a Volkswagen Thing, etc.]
Where was I..? oh yes. I think that Ben Grimm is stronger than Grundy, primarily because we’ve always seen Grundy plodding along slowly, not taking big standing broad jumps like the Hulk, or stopping approaching freight trains with the power of his legs as Ben did once. For that matter, Ben Grimm is a whole lot smarter than Grundy (almost anybody is., except maybe the Hulk himself.)
So Ben could probably out think Grundy. Even though Grundy was able to cause Alan Scott’s Power Ring bubble to deorbit by pushing on the sides of it (long ago) I think that is more akin to Grundy being made mostly of dead plant material (wood) which Alan’s Power Ring could not affect, so that touching the bubble on one side or the other made it porous and air leaked out, steering the bubble back to earth.
Ben is stronger AND smarter than Grundy. For example, in the Grundy-Swamp Thing team up, when Alec was examining Grundy to try to see if they were biologically similar (he found they weren’t.) Superman eventually disguised himself as another Solomon Grundy so the Swampland Savage wouldn’t struggle when he put his arm around him and flew off somewhere. He took him to the Moon and stranded him there. I felt awful sorry for Grundy, crying up there, being abandoned and alone again.
My point is, Grundy STILL wasn’t strong enough to jump and escape the Moon’s gravity and eventually be drawn back to Earth again. Even though, from his first appearance, where he was shown standing in the hoboes’ campfire, he could probably survive reentry.
Ben wins.

Grundy is by far stronger(has done well in fights with superman) but Grimm is well trained pugilist who has fought the best the marvel universe has to offer. He would out think Grundy( the old one not the new smart one) and trick him into beating himself. There is not enough info on the new Grundy to make a decision.

I would say grundy would win. Grundy is slightly stronger and has a higher tolerence for pain.

the thing.
He has a much higher tolerance for pain than grundy, anyone that can live in paris and deal with having to hear the frogs croak all the time has the highest possible tolerance for pain.
Note: the thing just moved to paris.

good one... kudos...
grundy is stronger and cant be killed (since he isnt really alive in the first place)...
but ben grimm is much smarter, and would not give up...
i think ben would probably manage to rip off grundy's arms and legs, incapacitate him long enough to win... but this is a tough one

I have to say it would be a draw. Neither Grundy or the Thing would win.
