Although OSU was the favorite for this game, the final score was Florida 41, Ohio State 14. What do you think caused this huge upset?

Inflexible coaching--not making enough adjustments. A very early and perhaps suspicious injury to Ted Ginn---sprained foot? An unlikely injury in a conditioned running back/pass receiver. A lack of top quality officiating. All these matters factored heavily.
A rather chubby line, both o and d, which slowed them down.... Maybe Jim T could institute a little weight loss program?

rather a great form of Florida delight on the region at present. SEC is the terrific convention, yet we've considered that they do no longer particularly have extra speed than the different convention. Nebraska, Penn State, Wisconsin all matched up properly with "rapid" SEC communities. OSU has too many weapons on offense. they could run with speed and potential. they could throw to RBs, TEs, WRs; short or long. And Smith can run at any time in spite of a undercover agent on him. The OSU offense merely can no longer be stopped. OSU has speed and intensity at each and every place. Florida is a great group, yet their offense has been inconsistent all season, and jointly as the OSU protection isn't great, that's somewhat good. Throw in stronger particular communities and that's complicated to make certain how Florida ought to win. Meyer is outstanding, and Florida is experienced adequate to make this close (maybe), yet i might wager OSU wins by potential of 10.

1. Florida went 8-1 in the nations strongest conference
2. Ohio St had 51 days between games, Florida only 37

Simple. OSU got away from running the ball at Florida's undersized defense and Tressel PANICKED by going for it on that 4th an 1 from his OWN 29 late in the first half! had he punted, they'd still be down by only 10 points and could've had their wits about them better. But the air went out of their balloon on that stop, Florida kicked another field goal, and the rout was on.

OSU didn't really play anyone tough (Yeah, Michigan looked really tough against USC, didn't they?).

The BCS computer's strength of schedule only takes the team at the time of playing and doesn't consider the strength of the opposing teams as the season progresses.

OSU's opponents in bowl games: 2-4.
Boise State's opponents in bowl games: 4-1

National champions have a problem... they lost. And there's still an undefeated team.

OSU underestimated us, as did the media etc. Urban Meyer is one heck of a coach and he has a very talented team. Go Gators!!

It wasn't an upset. The Gators are a far superior team that is better in every way. Lee Corso knows what he's talking about

Florida not letting being the underdogs bring them down, and OSU not playing up to their potential.

Florida played quality teams all year while Ohio state beat crapp azz teams all year. yeah Florida barely beat a lot of teams this year, but they were SEC teams and that carries a lot more weight that any other conference. Florida was bigger and faster.
