I rather get my ears pierced than get a flu shot! It hurts just a little when it is first done, but it is quick and it won't hurt long at all. As long as you use the cleaning solution that they give for your ears and turn the earrings like you are suppose too... there will be no problems.

If they use the peircing gun, it works to fast to even think about the pain, when ur sat there ur take ur mind off of it and just think about what clothes ur gunna get in a min or something, but it doesnt hurt no but after it feels like your ears are really warm if you know what i mean, like when u tug on ur ear and u can feel it warm up from the blood rushing to ur ear.
I would say leave them in for about 4-6 weeks so your not taking any chances and they will be healed but during the 4-6 weeks make sure you clean your ear and twisting the stud round so it cleans inside too. best thing to clean it with without paying a penny is warm water with a teaspoon of salt then useing cotton ear buds. Good Luck. GO FOR IT!

It really depends on where you get them pierced but here are some important things to keep in mind:
1. Go to a professional place to get your piercing done. Using piercing guns may be quicker, but it is unsanitary as they cannot be fully sterilized, and an cause damage to cartilage.
2. From personal experience I found that the lower piercings in my ear didnt hurt, but once you move up to cartilag areas higher up on your ear, the piercings are sensitive for a longer time and take much longer to heal. As far as the traditional lobe piercing though, no I didn't think it hurt at all.
3.You should wait four weeks after getting your ears pierce before removing the studs from when you got them done. Make sure to sterilize your piercing daily and rotate the studs to keep them free of germs and buildup.
Also one more suggestion, for new piercings stick to pure metals as they are less likely to cause a reaction than cheap earrings.

Hope this was helpful and good luk with your new ears ;)

It doesn't hurt that much. It's true that even though piercing by gunshot doesn't hurt instantly, it does ache a bit later on. It's your choice, needle or gunshot are both safe. But as much as i know, after piercing for the first time you ought to wear small gold earrings instead of imitation earrings, because imitation reacts with the wound and won't let it heal. After the hole is fully healed, you can wear all sorts of earrings. You could take medicine, to speed it up.

It doesn't hurt. Some people say you can't feel it but.....believe me you CAN feel it but it just feels like someone pinching your ears. Ask for the person piercing your ears to get another person so they can do it at the same time, that way there it just takes one second and it's over :] take your earrings out when they tell you too. never take them out too early.

well i had mine pierced when i was 8...does it hurt for a while..it is like you know stapling..but they use a certain lotion that will numb your ears a bit...after that well in about 10 min it may become you know that uncomfortable sort of pain..but the next day...it will be alright...don't remove your earings for a week...and when you do wash you earings...sterilise it and then you have to wear it again...keep your ears clean a nd dry to avoid infection...in another week or so...you are good to go...

it doesnt hurt at all if you get them done professionally. i suggest claire's cuz they have free ear peircing, you only have to pay for earrings and cleaner. They will tell you when you can take your earrings out.

From personal experience, (I have 5 piercings on my ears, one on my eye brow, and one on my navel), I find that the one where they do it by needle (or with the earring itself) is less painful than the gun shot, but I guess some people prefer gun shot coz it doesn't hurt them right then, but it gets more painful later, and especially at night, coz you can't sleep on that side.

Don't be afraid of getting your ear pierced. Go ahead and do it. Oprah got hers pierced for her 50th birthday. It's worth it. And so are you!

GoodLuck!
