The grinding noise is most likely a bad hard drive. It may also be that you have a lot of things on your computer, or it could be a virus or spyware overworking your computer.

If you have nothing in the A or CD drive then there are only a few moving parts that can make a lot of racket, The little fan inside over the CPU that keeps it cool, The fan you see on the back side inside the power supply. that's about it. you can find out if it's that by removing the case and listening. I suspect the CPU fan. It can be replaced. The power supply fan can be replaced but it is prob. easier to replace the power supply.

However if its very old and all that stuff isn't working then replace the whole thing.

Of course the Hard Drive has a disc inside that could be whining, best to replace that in stages, install a new one and copy everything from the old to the new and then remove the old. Thou sound like you would need to have someone do that for you.

You can get a new computer pretty cheap now, that one is six years old.

Hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete at the same time. Then, hit the "Performance" tab. There you'll see some of your memory.
As for the grinding noise, I have no clue. Maybe,a virus? I suggest you cram all your important files such as pictures and music into a CD.

Im guessing your talking about brake drums......even as the footwear are grow to be previous drums, there is mostly a lip on the fringe of the brake drum the position the others have worn away the metal interior...it truly is going to fantastically be cured by way of grinding the lip away or procuring new drums........in spite of the undeniable fact that there is often many aspects why ur getting the grinding noise..

2 things that MIGHT help, take the covers off and vacuumit going over it with an artists brush lightly. 2 defrag it with some like diskeeper lite. delite any file you no longer songs and picks you save them to CD's. Then defrag again

This should be done at least monthly so improvment may be slow at first

You can do it up to once a day at first (n0 m0re)

CCleaner is basically a dedicated cleaner which cleans the unwanted files in your computer...for eg. when you download or open any file or site, at many places it is registered in your computer that is not needed by the computer to work.....its a wonderful software that frees unwanted space...
Norton is basically a dedicated anti-virus.....
I sugess to still install CCleaner

You can find a free download of ccleaner here http://bit.ly/1sJimp9
