Whirring noise, not hte CD drive, it could possibly be the hard drive, but why?

It's probably the fan that keeps your processor cool....easy fix. You could just try cleaning it.

It could possibly be a cooling fan going bad. They do wear out eventually. I find I can prolong their life a little by peeling up the sticker and putting a drop or two of 3-in-1 oil on the bearings.

Contact yor Vendor and chk the hard drive. it could be because of Bad sectors on yor HDD. Also do it asap . yor HDD might fail very soon , so before you loose any data get it chckd.

if it is inside the case, and not near the power supply, it could be the cpu fan...I would check cpu fan and power supply.
