Start off by simplifying both the numerator and denominator.

1 + 1/sqrt(3) = (sqrt(3) + 1)/sqrt(3)

1 - 1/sqrt(3) = (sqrt(3) - 1)/sqrt(3)

Invert and multiply to clear the complex fraction - the sqrt(3)'s will cancel and you'll be left with

(sqrt(3) + 1)/(sqrt(3) - 1)

Rationalize the denominator by multiplying the fraction by (-sqrt(3) - 1)/(-sqrt(3) - 1) and simplify the results.
