First of all, go Twins!!!!
ok, now that I've gotten that out of the way, here's my opinion. I think that st. louis will have another pretty good season, but I think that the runner up of the 2006 WS will make another lengthy post season run.
I think that the Tigers will be very tough again this year. Their pitching staff is unrivaled with young but insanely good starting pitchers, Leyland has proven that he is one of the best managers out there (along w/Ron Gardenhire), and they are also led by thier head chief...PUDGE!!!!

It's way too early to tell. Obviously, the Red Sox and Yankees will be most people's front runners for the AL. I would not write off the Detroit Tigers. The Sheffield deal could work very much in their favor. The L.A. Angels could be a team to watch too. I don't think either the Twins or Cardinals has what it takes right now.

I know a lot of people are going to think I'm crazy and even though I'm a diehard Yankee fan, I'm going to say the Texas Rangers and here's why.
In 1995 the manager of they Yankees was Buck Showalter. He was fired and Joe Torre was hired. The next season the Yankees won the World Series.
In 2000 the manager of the Diamondbacks was Buck Showalter. He was fired and Bob Brenly took over. The next season the Diamonbacks won the World Series.
In 2006 the manager of the Rangers was Buck Showalter. He was fired and Ron Washington was hired. This means that the Rangers will win the World Series this year.

Angels- Other people talk about their pitching staffs, yet Boston has problems closing games and NY starter and mid relief is suspect. LA Angels of Anaheim has consistently have had solid pitching from start to finish. Granted we are in a weak division to start with, Zito-less A's, rebuilding M's and a second-best Rangers. The Angels also have had a winning record against Torre's Yanks, bounced them out twice in the playoffs. I think that we can win it all this year...

I always enter the new season thinking that the Yankees are going to win it all. This year is no different. If you're a Twins fan then your chances are great this year. You have a great team even though your division is tough. It makes for a fun season.
Can't wait.

The Yankees.
Because Andy Pettitte is back, and they have enough prospects to trade for a big name pitcher.
There is talk of Santana, since the Twins will want to get something for him before he becomes a FA.
Offense wins games. Defense gets you to the big games.
Momentum wins championships. Whoever gets hot in the post-season will win.

I was going to be sarcastic and say Tampa Bay, but they'll do good to finish last.
Dark horse team of the year - Florida Marlins. A lot of good, young talent and they might just surprise everyone.

Tessie, 'nuff said McGreevy shouted
We're not here to mess around
BOSTON, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you
RED SOX, you are the only, only, only
I mean, come on. Dice-K. Schilling. Papelbon. Man-Ram. Papi. Tek. We are going to score like 5 runs a game, and the staff is the best in the bigs. I see the first ever 100 win season in Sox history. Go BoSox.
