I know that age ratings for games exist, but are there really any consequences if someone gets an item not for their age. I mean seriously, people set the age ratings such as T for Teens, M for Mature, and E for everyone but there is no one there to make sure that the items are sold accordingly. I don't think that anyone really cares about the age restrictions. I think that they just want to look good to others.

As far as I know there are no consequences except perhaps from some local authorities. The ratings are placed there by the industry and are not mandated by government. This in my opinion is the way it should be. Parents should be the ones held accountable for the appropriateness of products purchased by their kids, not stores.

well look at it like this: its sort of like giving someone alchol before their 21. but when its a game who cares. so many people these days look older than they are who knows. i would say if it was a game let them buy it, its their money.
