Well you were in his house and he has the right to own a gun (if he has a permit). You should call the police though and report it. But why are you concerned with taking him to court....are you just looking for easy money?

Best call your local law enforcement, advise them of this and let them handle it. Sounds like the guy has several screws loose...better to let the pros deal with him as he did break a criminal law and that is first priority. If they can't make a satisfactory outcome possible, then I guess civil court is a possible option.
There very well be others who had the same run-in with him and they might have prior complaints on him...call the local law first.

In Canada 14 years for pointing a firearm, loaded or not. Each State has it's own criminal code

with all due respect to the other replies I was told that IF you was in another persons house BY invite...and at some point during that visit they did NOT want you in their house they have the right to ask you to leave IF at that point the person in the house refused to leave then YES the owner of the house does have the right to direct a firearm and again repeat the request to leave IF at that point they dont leave then you can open fire.........

Oh my yes. Go complete a police report.
Pointing a firearm at someone is assault. This is a criminal offense, as well as something that you can sue him for in civil court.
Problem: It's a you-said he-said thing, plus passage of time. They may not want to prosecute.

File charges on him with the police.
What would you file a court claim on him for ? Were you harmed ?
I doubt I would want to try dealing with this guy. either he is too proud of his junk or you were trying to get too big a bargain, but it was a beginning offer (I assume).

You mean this guy is still free and loose, call the police and file a complaint and see this person in court.

I would go to the police and file a complaint, what if he trys that with some one else and kills them, or finds you and trys it with you again, plus you will have a record of this incident just in case. hope you stay from the crazy.

If you haven't already filed a police report no... why didn't you beat the hell out of him or tear some chit up on the way out making it appear you were terrified and stumbled?

You could file a police report, but the decision is up to the prosecutor to take it to court.
