my sister is 9 weeks pregnant and she had to run some tests that showed that she had anaemia, high uric acid and a high white blood cell count... what does this mean and how can that affect her pregnancy...

Usually they test your urine for white cell count in pregnancy, if this has a high white cell count it indicates an infection. White blood cells counter infection and bacteria, a rise in white cells usually indicates an illness or infection. It's not uncommon in pregnancy to have a urinary tract infection though, and if it was a blood count it's probably just a general bacteria as your immune system is down especially in the very begining of pregnancy, this won't effect the baby.
Good thing is she having the right tests though.

This usually means that there is an infection her body is fighting off, more that likely a UTI which many pregnant women come in contact with. She may not even know that she has one, as do alot of women when pregnant, though she does need to get it taken care of cause it could lead to pre term labor.

White blood cells are the cells that help your body fight infection.
