Legally - there isn't one. The only time you can legally get music for free is if it's part of a promotional thing either from the artist or recording label itself.

Limewire is being sued as I write this and it's only a matter of time before Ares, BearShare, Morpheus and any others like those get sued as well, and soon enough they will start tracking down the people who download copyrighted material without paying for it.

Don't steal music.

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal. Don't do it. I'm a big fan of soundclick.com. Some of their stuff isn't copyrighted.
