try getting her to have a sippy cup when you are not there or if she think you are not there, it may be cause she know you are there and will feed her. it is often easier to get the child to take on from some one that not you, this is how we got my 13 month old off the breast and on to a sippy, my husband gave it to him with me in the other room i went out the front door said good bye and went around the back and waited in the room next door till after he had had his first fully sippy of water, we both go so excited and from then on he thought it was funny to us all happy every time he drank from it

My daughter did the same thing when we tried to ween her. The Dr. told us to just take the breast away, when the baby get hungry enough they will take what they can get, Whether its a bottle or a sippy. It takes about 24 hours for the baby to adjust to the change (oh and it's hell!) but after that they forget all about the change. It sounds really mean... but its not and its really effective. I had my daughter off the breast and then off the bottle in two 24 hour sessions.

you already know he CAN carry his bottle, he merely needs mommy too. And, there is not something incorrect with that. As for the sippy cup, it took my daughter a lengthy time period to get the hang of tipping. I merely began giving her an popular cup. even as taking area in with it, it tipped, water change into in her mouth. Then it change into like "hey, i ask your self if i can try this with each little thing else?" also, you may make investments in a unmarried of those sippy cups with the straw. That way, he would not even ought to tip it, and could nevertheless be able to get his own drink. My daughter change into utilizing on of those effectively earlier she change into 9 months previous.

Be patient. She'll grow out of it. My son was a very demanding breast feeder and didn't want a bottle but then suddenly he really liked sippy cups.

my son and daughter where the same way I just nursed them for 15 months but the funny thing is they would drink out of a cup or a water bottle basically what ever i was drinking..you have to introduce the bottle at birth but i do know one thing your child wont starve to death if you wait 5 or 6 hour to feed him or her and when they have no choice they will eat out of what ever you give them eventually...... but you have to be ready for the crying and fits and crying and fits and crying an fits. i couldn't stand the crying so i nursed one a day for a long time at 10 months your baby is ready for flinstone vitimins and the majority of there nutrients is gotten from food the boob is just comfort at this point

Keep trying and trying and trying! You'll probably feel like your forcing it on her, and really, you are! It will be rough going for a few days, but you have to stay strong! Try replacing one feeding every single day no matter what with a bottle/cup. There will be tears, but that is the only way. Don't cave! :)))
Good luck hon!

Well, I say the babe will eventually drink. Just keep offering and don't give in. Stick to what you really mean. He/she will know when they are thirsty and have no choice. They can manipulate there way at any age. They know we will give in. I had the same problem, just keep track of how many days it will be without a drink. If he/she eats table food they are getting some fluid within the food.

If you are set on stopping the breast feeding, give her a bottle or cup, period. Don't offer breast as a choice. Eventually, she will get thirsty and drink.
